FAQ
Who are you?
I’m Matteo Declercq! My passion for cycling started at the age of 9, and ever since, the bike has been a huge part of my life. From exciting races to technical skills and training tips—I share it all on my YouTube channel.
Besides cycling, I have another big passion: playing the piano. Two completely different worlds, but both require discipline, rhythm, and feeling.
I live in Kruisem, Belgium, where you’ll often find me out on the bike—always looking for the next challenge, a new training goal, or simply the joy of riding. 🚴🎶 Want to learn more about me? Check out this podcast interview!
🚴 How can I improve my technique in cyclocross, mountain biking, or road cycling?
Technique is one of the most important aspects of cycling. Whether it’s taking sharp turns in cyclocross, handling steep descents on a mountain bike, or pedaling more efficiently on the road—it all comes down to control and confidence.
On my YouTube channel, I regularly share tips and tutorials to help you improve your technique. Check out these videos:

🔰 What are your top tips for beginners?
Starting with cycling can feel overwhelming, but everyone begins somewhere! Here are a few key tips:
✔ Enjoy the ride first: Focus on having fun rather than speed or performance in the beginning.
✔ Technique before power: Good posture and control make a huge difference.
✔ Rest is just as important as training: Overtraining can lead to injuries or loss of motivation.
✔ Keep learning: Watch other riders, experiment, and improve step by step.
